AL-KO VT Academy: Training, Further Education & Qualification as a Chassis Technician
Nina Kast, Florian Vorreiter and Magnus Annuscheit – this is the team of the AL-KO VT Academy. The administrator and the two trainers provide knowledge about the products of AL-KO Vehicle Technology and offer both training and further education. These are conducted either at the Customer Centre in Kötz, directly at the premises of customers and dealers, or online – throughout Europe.
Who is the AL-KO VT Academy for?
For dealers, manufacturers and service staff
“Our focus is on training and further education for external customers such as dealers, manufacturers and service staff. We train them to become experts in our products such as brakes or levelling support systems and provide them with as much knowledge as possible so they are confident both in theory and practice,” explains Head of Training Florian Vorreiter. The team offers a wide range, from basic training to professional workshops with certification – tailored to every requirement and every level of detail.
“The workshops with certification serve, on the one hand, to impart solid knowledge. Above all, they are a prerequisite for installation and handling of our products. The basic training, by contrast, is designed to introduce participants to the technology, allowing them to build up relevant knowledge and offer targeted advice. Training in the areas of technology, sales, order consultation, complaints handling, service and installation provides an overview of the construction and function of our products and is precisely tailored to the target group.”
Internal training throughout Europe
For employees and apprentices
The demand for knowledge, of course, does not come exclusively from dealers and service staff. The AL-KO VT Academy team also trains its own apprentices and (new) employees. “Our goal is to offer internal training throughout Europe in the future. For this, we want to set up a ‘train the trainer’ programme – in order to regularly meet the Europe-wide demand for our further education and multiply our training and knowledge transfer,” explains Nina Kast.
Topics and Content of AL-KO VT Academy Training
More than 40 training sessions and further education courses per year
The AL-KO VT Academy currently conducts around 40 training sessions and further education courses per year, with numbers rising. “Demand is very high and, of course, we want to meet it. Some seminars have been established for years as bestsellers due to their high demand, such as the professional workshops for hydraulic levelling support systems. Feedback from participants as well as suggestions from dealers and manufacturers often lead to new topics, which we evaluate and, where appropriate, establish as new training subjects,” says Florian Vorreiter. “This is very important for us to adapt and update the training content to market needs.”
The AL-KO VT Academy also develops new training concepts and finds new approaches to knowledge transfer. In the coming months and years, more target groups will be covered: a new course for chassis technicians is planned specifically for the motorhome sector, along with new training for utility trailers and beyond.
Qualification as AL-KO VT Chassis Technician
A tradition since the 1970s
The training to become a chassis technician has a long tradition in the company: it has been offered since the mid-1970s and is aimed at professionals from the caravan industry. Currently, around 100 new chassis technicians are trained each year. “AL-KO VT, as a company that has grown with the camping sector, also has an educational responsibility in the market. Safety and quality are increased by training professional staff, and that is our responsibility,” explains Magnus Annuscheit.
