Caravan supports: crank-down legs, steady legs and levelling

The right support system for your caravan

    Stable stand on any pitch

Caravan supports provide a secure and stable footing for your caravan on any campsite pitch. They reduce movement inside and increase comfort when entering and leaving the vehicle. Depending on your requirements, you can choose between mechanical crank-down legs, electric supports or a hydraulic levelling system that automatically aligns your caravan.

Support systems for your caravan at a glance

    • Hydraulic supports automatically level your caravan both lengthways and crossways.
    • Electromechanical supports extend at the touch of a button, saving you manual cranking.
    • Mechanical crank-down supports are available in various versions. Depending on the model, they are suitable for caravans with a permissible gross weight of up to 2,500 kg.

Which support system is right for your caravan?

Not every camper has the same requirements. Some want to stabilise their caravan as simply as possible. Others are looking for maximum comfort and want to level their caravan at the touch of a button.

Hydraulic support system LevelC with automatic levelling

Automatic levelling for an easy start to your holiday

LevelC is a hydraulic support and levelling system for caravans. Two hydraulic axle supports and four corner steadies level the caravan automatically at the touch of a button, achieving a horizontal position both lengthways and crossways in just a few minutes. The system is designed for caravans up to 3,500 kg and weighs around 20 kg. When deployed, the supports also provide an additional mechanical obstacle, but do not replace a dedicated anti-theft device.

    Your benefits

    • Automatic levelling at the touch of a button
    • Secure stand in just a few minutes
    • Additional theft protection when supports are deployed

    Electromechanical support system UP4

Greater comfort at the touch of a button

Electric supports such as UP4 extend the support legs via a motor. This makes manual cranking unnecessary and your caravan is stabilised much more quickly. The system is particularly suitable for campers who change pitches frequently and are looking for more comfort.

    Your benefits

    • No more manual cranking
    • Faster set-up and removal of the supports
    • Greater comfort on every pitch

    Mechanical crank-down supports

    Robust and cost-effective

They reliably stabilise the caravan on the pitch and are part of the standard equipment of many caravans.

Mechanical drop-down legs are available in different versions. Depending on the variant, they are suitable for caravans with a permissible gross weight of up to 2,500 kg. You can find the precise load capacity and suitable vehicle allocation in the respective product data.

    Your benefits

    • Reliable stabilisation of the caravan
    • Robust and low-maintenance design
    • Economical entry-level solution

    BIG-FOOT support foot

    For the perfect stand

The BIG-FOOT support foot increases the contact area to 200 × 180 mm. This reduces the risk of sinking on soft surfaces such as sand or snow. It can be retrofitted to compatible AL-KO VT Stabilform and Premium supports.

Frequently asked questions about caravan supports

Caravans are usually supported at all four corners. Mechanical crank-down legs are suitable for classic stabilisation. UP4 takes care of the extension electromechanically. Anyone wishing to level the caravan automatically will require a dedicated hydraulic system such as LevelC.

First, secure the caravan against rolling and ensure it is level. Then crank the corner steadies down evenly until they are in firm contact with the ground. The supports provide stability and must not be used to lift the caravan on one side or relieve the wheels completely. Always observe the operating instructions for the respective system.

Mechanical crank-down supports stabilise the caravan after it has been levelled and are operated by hand. UP4 handles the extension and adjustment of the corner steadies electromechanically. The hydraulic LevelC system can lift and automatically level the caravan within the specified system parameters. Mechanical and electromechanical corner steadies must not be used as a substitute for a jack.

Mechanical crank-down supports stabilise the caravan after it has been levelled. UP4 extends the supports electrically and allows for fine adjustment. For automatic levelling lengthways and crossways, a dedicated hydraulic system such as LevelC is required.
