Within the available chassis variants, features such as wheelbase, frame length and overhang can be tailored to suit the planned body and specific requirements. This creates the ideal conditions for a variety of vehicle concepts – including those required in trades, food transport or horse transport.
Planning and implementation of the actual vehicle body are carried out by qualified body manufacturers. The available base vehicles, axle configurations, dimensions and permissible gross weights for a project must be verified based on the respective vehicle and chassis configuration.
Low-frame chassis allow for a reduced loading edge, which increases convenience when loading and unloading. Key advances in vehicle technology, such as ESP, can be fully utilised with AL-KO VT. Our engineers tailor ESP precisely to the respective chassis and thoroughly test it. Both 2- and 3-axle frame constructions are available. For the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, permissible gross weights of up to 4,500 kg for the 2-axle version and up to 5,500 kg for the 3-axle version are possible, depending on the specification.
