Flexible chassis for mobile homes
From luxury to cost-effective
Beverley Leisure Homes, based in Beverley, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, has 30 employees and specialises in building high-quality mobile homes that are quick and easy to install. The company offers both luxury models and more cost-effective standard solutions. Customers can choose from a wide range of layouts, sizes and fittings or realise their own ideas – from room configuration to interior furnishings.
AL-KO has been supplying chassis for Beverley Leisure Homes since 2017. When David Hall, CEO of Beverley Leisure Homes, founded his first company providing bespoke, high-quality homes for the leisure sector, the market was highly competitive. The AL-KO VT chassis formed the basis for these homes, ensuring transportability, stability and precise alignment. In 2019, David Hall set up another company focused on standardised and more affordable holiday homes and eventually merged both firms in 2021 to create Beverley Leisure Homes. Today, the company combines the benefits of individual design with the advantages of standardised production. Currently, around 600 Beverley Leisure Homes stand securely on AL-KO VT chassis.
Why AL-KO VT chassis are particularly well suited
Flexible and long-lasting
“AL-KO VT understands our business and knows that we need bespoke, high-quality solutions,” says David Hall, CEO of Beverley Leisure Homes.
AL-KO VT tailors the chassis to the different size requirements of Beverley Leisure Homes mobile homes. The smaller models are around 11 metres long and three to four metres wide, while the larger units are up to 20 metres long and seven metres wide. The larger models are delivered to their location in two parts. AL-KO VT provides compatible split chassis, so both halves can be transported securely and seamlessly joined on site.
During installation, it is a particular benefit that deviations in dimensions are minimal with AL-KO VT and that all units always meet the same high standards. This allows the homes to be aligned precisely on their concrete foundations. “The right foundation and exact alignment are vital to ensure that doors and windows function properly,” explains David Hall. This attention to detail ensures reliable use of the homes for years to come.
“Our chassis are fully galvanised, which makes them especially resistant to corrosion and environmental impacts. This high material quality ensures that Beverley Leisure Homes mobile homes remain stable for decades, even under demanding conditions,” says Jonathan Chapman, Head of Sales at the AL-KO VT branch in the United Kingdom.
Bolted connections are more flexible and sustainable
Screw connections are easier to modify
An example of how AL-KO VT helps implement individual requirements is adapting window layouts to suit specific plots: “Some parks have pitches with special views, and customers want the windows to capture exactly these views. Thanks to AL-KO VT, we can react flexibly to such requests,” says Trudy Youngs, Director of Operations at Beverley Leisure Homes. “AL-KO can quickly adjust the chassis design to fit, without slowing down the production process.”
The flexibility of the AL-KO VT chassis is also based on the different connection techniques. Alongside welded joints, which are rigid and harder to adjust, AL-KO VT also offers bolted chassis. Welded joints tend to be less flexible and require extensive intervention if the design is changed, whereas bolted connections can be released and modified more easily.
The fast production process at AL-KO VT is important for Beverley Leisure Homes’ business: “It’s crucial for us to have a quick turnaround. AL-KO can design and deliver the chassis in under two weeks. That allows us to bring a bespoke mobile home to market within six to seven weeks, from concept to final installation,” says David Hall. “Thanks to AL-KO’s rapid response, we need to keep fewer chassis in stock, which would otherwise be a significant financial risk for us,” explains the Beverley Leisure Homes CEO.
Rapid provision requires a fast partner
Speed and flexibility strengthen market position
With a focus on quality and individuality, Beverley Leisure Homes will continue to offer people a space to get away from everyday life in the future. The robust AL-KO VT chassis ensure these retreats are not only beautiful, but also durable and reliable. “That’s how the sense of peace and security these homes provide can be enjoyed for the long-term,” concludes David Hall.
