What do you love about travelling with a motorhome or caravan? Many would say: being flexible, free and independent – and staying somewhere new every day if you feel like it. With maximum comfort always in mind for you, manufacturers of motorhomes and caravans as well as accessory specialists are continuously developing more user-friendly vehicles and products.
That means: Comfort 4.0 – and all that in a smart way! How? With accessories that are easy to use, simply at the touch of a button or by smartphone app. The leading industry experts presented the latest in smart technology available on the market – and what you can look forward to in 2017 – at the "Reise + Camping" holiday show in Essen. Among the participants were vehicle manufacturers Frankia and Fendt-Caravan, and accessory experts AL-KO, SAWIKO, Alden and Thitronik.

AL-KO VT relies on Quality for Life
Comfort – that’s what the AL-KO VT brand has always represented. This also applies to the three new products that the chassis technology specialist presented in Essen.
The fully automatic HY4 hydraulic levelling support system, for example, levels the motorhome at the touch of a button, ensuring a secure, even parking position during your camping stay. Thanks to comfort functions which can be freely and individually programmed – for example, tilting the vehicle sideways for emptying the tank or setting your personal sleeping position at any pitch by adjusting the basic position of the motorhome – the AL-KO VT HY4 can be matched individually to each vehicle, meeting your personal requirements perfectly.
The system is operated simply and intuitively via a wired remote control with modern LED technology. The same applies to the Mammut caravan manoeuvring system and the Ranger manoeuvring system from AL-KO VT.

Double mobility with scooters and more
Loading systems from SAWIKO are also extremely easy to operate. Light, space-saving, convenient – these three words perfectly describe the Trineo electric rear garage loading system. Only the guide rail with electric motor and the front wheel cradle need to be installed in the motorhome’s rear garage. The cradle can also be effortlessly removed to free up even more space when the rear garage loader is not in use.
The Trineo has a payload of 150 kg, making it suitable for most scooter models. Heavier machines are best transported by trailer. The Wheely from SAWIKO is the ideal solution for this, as its clever modular system guarantees maximum flexibility. To load the motorbike, the lifting device is simply docked and the machine is pulled onto the loading area using the electric cable winch operated by remote control (alternatively, a manual cable winch can also be fitted) – all with no effort whatsoever. The system is so simple and safe that it can even be operated by just one person.
Smart alarm systems for caravan and motorhome from Thitronik
No chance for thieves
Easy handling is a feature of the WiPro III wireless alarm system for motorhomes and the C.A.S.-III for caravans. Thitronik has developed both alarm systems specifically for recreational vehicles.
The systems are operated using the vehicle key or the supplied remote control. In combination with Thitronik tracking systems, not only can the alarm systems be controlled by mobile phone, but GPS-precise location of a stolen vehicle and phone alerts in emergencies are also possible. Thanks to wireless sensors, there’s no need for any sensor wiring, which significantly reduces the usually high installation effort found with conventional alarm systems.
Furthermore, even when the alarm is activated, the vehicle occupants can move freely inside the vehicle.
Clever solution from Alden for TV and satellite
ONE Touch Easy
“ONE Touch Easy” – the product name really says it all: Setting up and operating an automatic satellite / TV system can be that simple. The ONE Touch Easy control button allows an entire SAT / TV system from Alden to be operated with a single press of a button. ONE Touch Easy switches on the entire SAT / TV system and starts searching for the desired satellite with just one press – pressing it again switches the system off and retracts the satellite dish.
This smart control unit can be fitted anywhere in the vehicle, completely independently of all other technical devices, and a clearly visible green indicator ring unmistakably signals that the system is in operation. Incorrect operation is therefore excluded.
