First let’s look back: in 1967, AL-KO VT developed the hexagonal rubber suspension axle, and has been providing greater comfort and driving safety for 50 years. To date, the axle manufacturing specialists have produced around 27 million axles at twelve sites on five continents—including not only rubber suspension axles but also torsion bar axles.
On peak days, more than 2,000 axles are produced at the Kötz headquarters alone. Around 8% of all axles delivered are high-quality standard designs, while the remaining 92% are tailor-made custom solutions.

Gentle and safe transport with the hexagonal rubber suspension axle
The greatest suspension travel and the best inherent damping compared with all rubber suspension axles, suspension softness similar to that of the automotive industry and precisely-tuned suspension thanks to independent wheel suspension.
The AL-KO VT hexagonal rubber suspension sets the benchmark for ride comfort and safety in trailers. The unique combination of the hexagonal outer tube with triangular inner tube gives the rubber inside space to work. What’s more, it is currently the lightest axle version on the market. This as yet unsurpassed and continually optimised technology enables you to transport goods and animals with exceptional care and minimal stress.
Perfect cornering with the Euro-Delta trailing arm axle
The Euro-Delta trailing arm axle also harnesses the advantages of hexagonal rubber suspension. The additional 
highlight: thanks to adjustable toe-in, the axle system counteracts centrifugal force during cornering. As its name suggests, the axle is mounted at an angle, so the wheels, which are individually suspended on what are known as trailing arms, can move around the axle during suspension compression and rebound. This means the force exerted on the outer wheel in a bend is transmitted via the trailing arm to the wheel spindle, which resists the centrifugal force and supports the vehicle to the inside of the curve.
Always the correct level with lowering axles
Comfortable loading and unloading or direct customer contact—lowering axles significantly streamline your workflows. By fitting hydraulic cylinders, you can effortlessly lower or tilt your trailer to the desired level. AL-KO VT offers you three variants. If you just need assistance during loading, lowering by as little as 140 millimetres is often sufficient. For an almost ground-level lowering, for example during a sales discussion, greater lowering distances of 210 or 270 millimetres are recommended.
