AL-KO VT motorhome levelling support systems
Hydraulic and mechanical support systems for motorhomes
Stable parking – even on challenging pitches
A stable position is the basis for a comfortable stay in your motorhome. Not every pitch is level or paved. Soft ground, gravel or slight slopes can reduce comfort on board.
Levelling support systems from AL-KO VT reliably stabilise your vehicle and reduce unwanted movement. Depending on vehicle type, weight and comfort requirements, you can choose from hydraulic and mechanical solutions. They provide a stable, secure position, whether you are stopping briefly or staying for longer.
Levelling support systems for motorhomes at a glance
Which support system is right for my motorhome?
The right system depends on the vehicle type, permissible gross weight and desired level of operating convenience. Hydraulic levelling systems automatically level the motorhome. Mechanical steady legs are operated with a hand crank and reliably stabilise the vehicle.
- HY4: for light to medium-sized motorhomes based on Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Jumper, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, VW Crafter or MAN TGE chassis; for vehicles with a permissible gross weight of up to 6 t; fully automatic levelling with four decentralised hydraulic pump units.
- HY2: for vehicles with a permissible gross weight of up to 6 t; cost-effective alternative to HY4 with just two steady legs; ideal for first-time users of hydraulic systems. This system weighs just 34 kg and can be upgraded to HY4 at a later date.
- LevelM Pro: for light to medium-sized motorhomes based on Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Jumper, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ford Transit or Iveco Daily chassis; for vehicles with a permissible gross weight of up to 6 t; ideal when low system weight, quiet operation and gentle levelling are important.
- LevelM Pro 4x4: the off-road solution for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter VS30 4x4 van chassis with a permissible gross weight of up to 4.25 t. The system offers a minimum ground clearance of 280 mm.
- LevelM: the first choice for heavy or specialised motorhomes. The system covers a wide range of vehicle classes with permissible gross weights from 3.5 to 22 t.
- ClickFix: suitable if you wish to stabilise your motorhome cost-effectively and without hydraulics. An AL-KO VT chassis or a suitable chassis extension is required.
Have compatibility checked before installation
Vehicle specifications determine compatibility
The weight class alone is not enough to determine compatibility. The chassis, year of manufacture, wheelbase, drive type, existing attachments and available installation space must also be taken into account.
An AL-KO VT customer centre or authorised partner will check the installation requirements and recommend an approved configuration. They can also install the system professionally.
Frequently asked questions about support systems for motorhomes
Hydraulic levelling support systems automatically or semi-automatically level the motorhome and offer a high degree of operating comfort. Mechanical steady legs are operated manually using a hand crank and are primarily used for stabilisation on solid ground. Which solution is more suitable depends on the vehicle type, your comfort requirements and the intended use.
Hydraulic levelling support systems compensate for uneven surfaces and slopes. Mechanical supports stabilise the vehicle but are not primarily designed for fully automatic levelling.
Hydraulic levelling support systems are designed to affect ground clearance as little as possible during driving. Special systems such as the off-road variant LevelM Pro 4x4 are specifically designed for high ground clearance. Mechanical steady legs can be fully folded away for travel, providing sufficient ground clearance.
HY2 is suitable if you want to hydraulically support the front or rear axle and save weight. For fully automatic levelling, you need a system with four supports, such as HY4, LevelM Pro or LevelM.
Many hydraulic and mechanical support systems can be retrofitted. Key factors to consider are vehicle compatibility, chassis, permissible gross weight and available mounting points. Please check these requirements before ordering.
Modern hydraulic levelling support systems are generally low-maintenance and designed for long-term use. Mechanical steady legs feature simple technology and also require only minimal maintenance.
LevelM is designed for higher weight classes and a wide range of vehicle types. The current product configuration covers a permissible gross weight of up to 22 t. An specialist workshop must assess vehicle compatibility and the installation situation.
LevelM Pro 4x4 is designed for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter VS30 4x4 van chassis up to 4.25 t. For other Sprinter versions, HY4, LevelM Pro or LevelM may be suitable depending on the chassis. The exact variant depends on the vehicle configuration and available installation space.
This depends on the system used. HY4 weighs around 68 kg, LevelM Pro and LevelM Pro 4x4 from 56 kg, LevelM from 60 kg, and HY2 around 34 kg. In addition, vehicle-specific mounting parts and accessories may be required.
