Which wheel chock is suitable for my trailer?

The choice depends primarily on wheel load, tyre size and preferred material. The AL-KO VT range covers different weight classes.

    BASIC metal wheel chocks

Classic design for various wheel loads

The metal variants are made from Sendzimir galvanised steel sheet. The UK 36 St is designed for a 1,600 kg wheel load per chock, the UK 46 St for 5,000 kg and the UK 53 St for 6,500 kg. The maximum static tyre radii for each model range from 360 to 560 mm.

    PLUS plastic wheel chocks

Low weight and permanent corrosion protection

The plastic variants range from the compact UK 10 K-2 with an 800 kg wheel load to the UK 53 K-2 with 6,500 kg per chock. Models with 1,600 and 5,000 kg are available in between. UK 53 K-2 versions with and without metal anti-slip protection are available.

    UK 800 St foldable

    Space-saving metal wheel chock

The foldable UK 800 St is designed for a wheel load of 2,500 kg per chock and a static tyre radius up to 830 mm. Thanks to its folding construction, it can be stored in a compact way.

Safely store wheel chocks on the trailer

AL-KO VT offers suitable holders for the UK 10, UK 36, UK 46 and UK 53 for storage. When not in use, wheel chocks must be easily accessible and secured so they cannot be lost or rattle. According to the catalogue, hooks or chains are not permitted for this purpose.

Frequently asked questions about wheel chocks

This depends on the type of construction and the permissible gross weight. According to the German regulations listed in the AL-KO VT catalogue, at least one or two wheel chocks may be required. The exact vehicle configuration is therefore decisive.

The BASIC and PLUS wheel chocks from AL-KO VT are tested according to DIN 76051, edition 11/92. According to the catalogue, this standard is usually recognised in other European countries as well. Country-specific regulations must also be observed.

Wheel chocks should be stored in or on the vehicle where they are easily accessible. A suitable holder prevents them from being lost or rattling during travel. AL-KO VT offers holders matched to the respective sizes.
