For six years now, with a team of nine, the Tiny House Manufaktur has been operating in the tiny house sector from its headquarters in Cologne. Michael Heller, master carpenter and creative mind behind the company, founded the workshop. He combines his many years of professional experience with the dream of giving people a tailor-made place of retreat in the form of tiny houses—a place that helps them forget their hectic (working) day. The focus is on quality and harmonious design. In addition, ecological construction methods are especially important to the Manufaktur.
The Tiny House Manufaktur plans and develops tiny houses according to customer requirements and offers three expansion stages:
- a basic framework,
- the shell construction, and
- a turnkey variant.

Sustainability, ecology and regionality as part of the company DNA
Native woods, natural waxes, and sheep’s wool
The Tiny House Manufaktur builds its tiny houses exclusively with native woods from sustainable forestry. It also uses natural wood waxes and oils instead of varnishes. For insulation and a pleasant indoor climate, they use 80 millimetres of sheep’s wool, made durable by a biological process. Customers can also choose from other natural insulating materials such as hemp, flax or wood wool—depending on individual preferences. Work that cannot be carried out in-house is given to regional craft businesses.

Michael Heller and his team do their utmost to realise their customers’ wishes individually and to measure—from joint discussions and ideas for design and interior layout.

Because their modular frame concept, with various body lengths and a standard selection from a range of some 20 frames, provides ample scope for individuality.
The wide range on offer, as well as outstanding quality and durability, help the Tiny House Manufaktur meet the requirements and wishes of customers dreaming of their own individual tiny house. The frames also impress with high bending strength and rigidity. Heavy-duty supports mounted directly on the chassis enable on-site alignment. Depending on axle load, axles and drawbar can be adjusted. Thanks to the precise manufacturing of the frame, the tiny house can be built directly onto it. Body lengths range from 5.40 to 8.40 metres, giving customers the flexibility to choose the size of their tiny house. Different construction types result in 20 standard versions that customers can choose from.
