Green Tiny Houses GmbH & Co. KG from Elmshorn takes a unique approach: the company specialises in setting up entire mini villages made of tiny houses. In various locations across Germany, from the sea to the mountains, you can find so-called Green Tiny Villages – for example, in the Harz mountains and on the North Sea coast.
In Harlesiel, a coastal town in East Frisia, there are a total of 19 Green Tiny Houses on a campsite. They are ideal for families, couples, friends, individualists and those working from home. The mini village offers an innovative way of living for a relaxing break, a holiday or working right in the middle of nature.
Specially designed workspaces allow visitors to work from the Tiny Office. These workspaces are particularly well equipped. Workers can enjoy height-adjustable desks and, above all, the unique view through the panoramic window straight out into nature. And best of all: the Wadden Sea is right on the doorstep of the tiny house mini village.

Focus on sustainable, eco-friendly materials
“Green” in the name Green Tiny Houses GmbH & Co. KG also reflects the company’s philosophy. There is a strong focus on sustainability in the selection of materials and the construction of the tiny houses.
The various models of these mini holiday houses are designed from the ground up to be eco-friendly: Superwood from Scandinavian forests or specially treated timber is used for the Green Tiny Houses’ façade. Both types of wood are considered especially robust and durable. For insulation, Baltic Sea seagrass and wood fibre are used.
Another highlight is a NASA-inspired astronaut shower. The special feature: while you shower, the water is directly recycled (heated, filtered and purified). This can save up to 90 per cent of water and up to 80 per cent of energy consumption. Also integrated into the Green Tiny Houses: a combustion toilet that functions completely without water.
The site on the North Sea coast also offers a sustainable mini sauna house. Additionally, depending on the location, between one and five per cent of rental income is donated directly to local nature conservation. A partnership with precision
A unique feature of Green Tiny Houses: they not only build individual mini houses, but also set up entire mini villages. To do this, the company uses predetermined designs, as is common with terraced houses. These define the local appearance and create a uniform look. In Harlesiel, for example, nearly 20 tiny houses have been built in just two different designs.
This is where the AL-KO Vehicle Technology Group comes into play. Green Tiny Houses GmbH & Co. KG manufactures its mini houses in series. This means: identical chassis, dimensions, specifications etc. The chassis from AL-KO Vehicle Technology are particularly well suited to serial models because they are bolted rather than welded. Bolting the individual components ensures almost one hundred per cent dimensional accuracy, which can be consistently maintained. This ensures that the chassis do not develop distortion or inaccuracies due to welding. The chassis are easy to assemble and provide a stable, durable foundation for series-produced mini houses.

“The tiny house village concept inspired us from the very start – because the chassis from AL-KO Vehicle Technology were specially developed for serial production. They feature, for example, a patented connection. The positive-fit shear-block bolted connections ensure an especially precise fit on the chassis. Flat round-headed bolts are also used in the contact surfaces of the body, resulting in minimal interference contours,” explains Pierre Auf dem Brinke, Northern Sales Manager of the AL-KO Vehicle Technology Group, describing the construction method in more detail.
