Since its foundation in 1995, SAWIKO has developed into a leading supplier of premium accessories for recreational vehicles throughout Europe. In 2012, the company became a wholly owned AL-KO subsidiary.

    Who’s behind it?

    SAWIKO has grown from a four-person operation into a company with several dozen employees. Thanks to its Europe-wide dealer network, this Lower Saxony-based company now operates comprehensively in the most important European caravaning markets and supports the AL-KO Vehicle Technology Group with its expertise in the after-market sector. Here, trust and quality set the standard.

    SAWIKO places the highest value on safety and comfort for its innovative premium accessories for motorhomes. In addition to selected products from the Italian AL-KO subsidiary CBE in the solar and energy management sector, the company’s product portfolio is characterised by premium accessories such as high-quality towbars, rear carriers, or motorbike loading aids.

    Innovative premium accessories: Motorbike loading aid

    Safe loading is essential. Normally, loading a motorbike onto a trailer requires at least two people and a lot of muscle power. To save energy and time, you can use SAWIKO's motorbike and scooter loading aid.

    With conventional loading systems, you first need to push the bike up onto the platform and then pull it fully onto the trailer. This is not only more cumbersome but also more hazardous than SAWIKO’s solution.

    The motorbike loading aid offers the major advantage of ground-level loading. The front wheel simply needs to be pushed into the front wheel chock on the sliding carriage. Once the tyre is securely on the carriage, the bike is strapped down at the front.

    Once the front wheel is secured on the ground, the motorbike can be pulled into the desired position effortlessly with a smooth-running hand cable winch or electric cable winch. After that, you simply strap down the rear, and loading is complete. The motorbike loading aid can be used with many different trailers or vehicles, making it incredibly versatile. This means you can easily load motorbikes and more into the rear garage of a motorhome, onto a closed trailer, into a panel van or onto a pick-up. If needed, customers can tailor the motorbike loading aid to their own specific purposes and dimensions.

    With dedicated customer centres together with AL-KO VT in Germany, the Netherlands, France and Italy, SAWIKO ensures optimal customer service. One particular highlight is the site in Neuenkirchen-Vörden. Early analysis of OEM, dealer and consumer feedback is used to quickly turn wishes into innovative, market-oriented products and services. The skilled workshop teams at the AL-KO VT customer centres also offer high-quality service for end customers at five further locations.

    The AL-KO Vehicle Technology Group is planning to open a customer centre in Great Britain in 2022. The location is expected to be in Lancashire.
