Description

Reduced breaking distance: Always optimally adjusted brakes

Braking distance costs time. Invest in the AAA automatic brake adjuster – AL-KO AAA brakes can be retrofitted to wheel brakes 2051 and 2361 (from 1999 model year).

Whenever the brake has excess play, the AAA automatically readjusts. The wheel brake remains optimally adjusted as standard: The robust system is unchanged apart from the adjustment function.

Our tip: Change over to the AAA Premium Brake the next time you change your brake linings, if not before!

The premium brake which adjusts itself

  • The existing wheel brake, with its above average braking values, is improved by the automatic adjustment function.
  • Adjustment is disabled when reversing.
  • Suitable for wheel brake types 2051 and 2361 (from 1999 model year) and therefore for most caravans with AL-KO axles
  • Quick and easy conversion with a pre-mounted AL-KO screw system suitable for AL-KO axles

Your advantage:

  • Greater driving safety: With a braking distance that is up to 5 m shorter
  • Greater ride comfort: Thanks to smooth, jerk-free braking
  • Lower maintenance costs: Due to extended service intervals and dispensing with the first workshop visit after 1000 km
  • No requirement to present to the inspection authorities once again following installation

FAQ

As the brake linings wear, the play in the wheel brake increases, and the travel of the overrun device becomes longer. At every braking action, the play in the brake is measured by the AAA, and is reset if necessary. However, for this, relatively heavy braking actions are occasionally required, such as those which in practice occur when driving in winding roads.

Automatic brake adjustment will become mandatory for new vehicles in class O1 (up to 750 kg) and O2 (750 kg to 3500 kg) in the next few years, probably from 2018.

Old vehicles are not expected to be affected.

Yes, for axles with bolted-on brake back plate.

Yes, this has been taken into consideration via an addendum in the assessment.

Yes, reliable materials and surface coatings are used for the adjustment.

The gap increases, as with a brake without AAA.

Yes, manual adjustment is possible even with AAA fitted. This does not affect the performance.

Yes, the shape of the current adjusting nut has been adapted for the AAA. The function of the manual adjustment remains the same.

No, the automatic adjustment takes place on the adjusting nut which has been tried and tested over decades.

The AAA provides adjustment over the entire service life of the wheel brakes.
